• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Im using a new 996p2 with freescan and the rr subscription. I was able to import my counties P25 system from RR.

Is the import plug and play or do I have to manually configure any settings in my new system/groups besides assigning keys to them?

Another question I have....

with freescan the alpha tags are in the "display" column.... however sometimes when a channel pops up on the scanner I am getting an ID number displayed on the scanner....

First row would be the P25 site as I named it
second shows ID: then the number

how do I toggle this so I see an alpha tag instead?

This is correct. You are in search mode and those items coming up with just an ID number are talkgroups that you do not have programmed.
