• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

You didn't say what type of agency was using it, but this might be it:
HOLYOKE, CITY OF 153.65000000 KCB858 HOLYOKE HAMPDEN
You can use our FCC database search to check other possibilities:

While your scanner may have rounded it off...it's not a legit freq...

RS,

That won't help. 153.645 is not a valid frequency, which may explain why '42 is having trouble finding it in any database, be it here, the FCC's, or elsewhere. 153.6425 and 153.650 are the two valid frequencies that adjoin the one in question.

Merged the other posts from the other thread in to this one.

Bolts, please make sure to look over all forums and their descriptions before posting next time. Also, please make note of stickied posts at the top of certain forums which guide you where to put posts. Thanks.
