These were posted under the Needed frequencies thread

Richmond AAA is KIL634
150.905 85.4 ctcss
150.935 85.4 ctcss

Have not heard these in quite some time. Dispatching may now be on
an 800mhz TRS.

Way out there...
AAA Frequencies

Last year in Roanoke I was sitting at a stop light beside a AAA wrecker (actually a roll-back) who had a gain VHF antenna center roof of his truck. He also had mounted over his head a 2 channel Motorola Maxtrac. From the length of the antenna whip, I'd say it was in the 150 Mhz range. Gone are the days of the old RCC VHF mobile phones and those repeated conversations which every tow truck in this area used.

Don't think so

If they are on a TRS they should still have a license in the FCC database. I haven't looked myself.

I don't think so. AAA would be just another talkgroup for the trs licensee. That's what makes it so difficult to id talkgroups on commercial trs. They should be either on the Richmond North or Richmond South RCS 800 mhz. trs. Fletcher's Towing is a AAA affiliate also is on one of the Richmond trs as well as Nuckel's Towing. That can be confusing. If on one of the two trs AAA should have their unique talkgroup.

Well someone has to have a license for a transmitter. Would Radio Comm or whoever be letting users talk on their license? That doesn't seem right. I'll call a guy tomorrow and ask him. I know in the old world of community repeaters you had to have a license.

Why not check the FCC database?

Call some guy? Check the FCC database for WPRI860 which is the licensee (Virginia
Channels, Glen Allen, Va.) for what a few of us who track the two main Richmond 800 mhz. trs talkgroups call "Richmond North". You will find only frequencies and repeater locations listed and no separate licenses for users. There is no requirement for trs operators or uhf community repeater operators to have separate licenses for their users.

As for AAA users, see post #6, that is who the transmitters are licensed to. Individual users (talkgroups) do not hold a license.
