I live near Newport News/Williamsburg Int'l Airport (PHF) and the special airlift aircraft from the 89th MAW at Andrews AFB use the runways for practice approaches. Does anyone know if they use the airport's VHF or UHF channels for their communications.

I really don't listen to air channels all that often so I'm pretty much lost (despite 40 years of scanning). :D

Thanks for the info, I'll give it a try next time I see one of the 89th aircraft flying around. That could be a week or so, they don't do it all the time. :(

I'll let you know which I hear.

They're likely be using the VENUS ## callsign. By the way, 89th MAW became 89th Airlift Wing 27 years ago.
