The TRX and other GRE radios do emit a "busy signal" tone during reception of encrypted comms. So yes you are picking up encrypted RCMP.

I think they're "locked out" by your radio's settings. I think GRE/Whistler/whoever makes/made the TRX set all encrypted channels to "locked out" by default.

Got a hit on talkgroup 2851 today off the Bankers Hall tower in Calgary. Looking at the confirmed talkgroups it looks like it might be a new RCMP dispatch channel.

Chestermere and Strathmore switched this week so possibly one of those detachments.

Does that mean Tsuut'ina might be alone on A4 finally? I can hear them (for a short while) without hearing about 378 other things going on in Chestermere & Wheatland?

If 2852 is Olds-Didsbury and the system is alphabetical, 2851 might be Okotoks. I'll see if I hear them on A2 still.

Tsuu T’ina is alone on A4 for the next couple weeks. They are set to go onto AFRRCS at the end of June along with Okotoks, High River and Turner Valley. Those detachments are still on A2 until then.

I have some new info in Lac La Biche. TG 3111 to 3116 consecutively. Radio ids 401xxxx. I’m guessing this might be fish & wildlife. All is encrypted except channel 3111. All they say on 3111 is where they are going. That’s it.

Has anyone started a list of agency id’s they could share ?

My guess is what you're hearing is Alberta Parks. They use Radio Id's 4018XXX. They have talk groups in the 3100 area. Enforcement is encrypted while admin is clear. Fish and Wildlife use Id's 4017XXX and talk groups in the 400 series.

Ok. Thanks for that. Do you have a list of radio id's and whom they belong to ?

No, I don't. My Alberta Parks list is somewhat lacking. I just listen for any locations mentioned and then look to see if there is an Alberta Park there. For example, I heard someone going into the Aspen Room. Later, they did say Aspen Beach Provincial Park. For Cooking Lake, I hear Charlie Oscar (CA) call signs and wondered if the two letter phonetic call signs were similar to the Park name. I didn't determine whether than was correct for Cooking Lake.

During the past 2 weeks there has been a lot of activity on the towers within Foothills County on TG 2865. Normally during normal working hours. This may be the prep work for the AFRRCS switchover for the detachments in the county. I haven't seen many hits on 2851. At present the RCMP is still on PACS.

If my guesses at the alphabetical lineup, um, line up, 2865 is actually probably Strathmore.

My suspicions on Foothills are:

2840 - High River
2851 - Okotoks
2872 - Turner Valley (or maybe 2871)

I'll reset the hit counter for Monday morning and focus on the Aldersyde tower first, the counts should confirm things over the next few weeks. What you say makes sense as it is not unusual to see 2832 Cochrane on that tower.

Lots of activity by AFRRCS Techs the last few days, installing New radios and updating them with unit Id's etc. One member asked another if they were on AFRRCS yet he said not yet until they get all units done then they'll turn on the switch. See the flooding showing up;
TG - 2741, 2749, 2999, 3530, 3003, 1151
UIDs- 444... 444... 444... 410... 444... 412...

Picking up Alta Parks, TG- 3128 & Kids 4018324 & 4018326 around Gr8 Pr areas (Young Point, Sturgen Lake, Moonshine & Dunvegan on Saddle Hills site) in the clear

RCMP A2 has gone silent in Foothills County except for the odd call from a Sheriff running a marker. The busiest talk groups on the Aldersyde tower, so far, in decending order are; 2865 Strathmore, 2851 Okotoks?, 2842 High River?, 2832 Cochrane and 2871 Turner Valley?
