At approx. 2300hrs 3 males assaulted a taxi cab driver with a handgun. The males demanded to be driven to East Orange from Morristown but the driver stopped somewhere along Rt.10 in the whippany section of town. The taxi driver was hit in the face and upper body with the handle of an unknown type handgun. The taxi driver was subsequently tazed by one of the males and then all 3 fled on foot. Two handguns we're shown.
All 3 males are at large as of 0048 and a perimeter has been established. Morris Co. CID and detectives are on scene and NJSP Aviation has been requested.
