Hi guys,
Here is some info for you air buffs about what is arriving at Pearson on Thursday.
Info from TASN group.
The Raptor is actually landing here and staying around for the weekend.
Got to sit on my work's roof and take some pics, thats if they land on runway 23.

Some of the aircraft participating in The Canadian International Air
Show 2007 will be arriving and landing at Toronto Pearson
International Airport on Thursday August 30, 2007. They will be
parking at North Lounge Building at 2550 Derry Road

Timing of the events is as follows:
11:00 am Arrival of the CF Snowbird Team
11:30 Arrival of the CF 18 Hornet & CF 18 Demonstration team
11:30 Arrival of F 22 Raptor Tactical Demonstration team
11:30 Arrival of USAF-F16 Demonstration team
11:30 Arrival of C17 Globemaster Demonstration Team

They may also do flights around downtown Toronto... so keep looking up!

I got a good view of them as they come in & the wind is blowing W=E, allowing for them to land over us in Rexdale rather than Meadowvale.

Thanks Ron

Hey tons,

Great info ! Especially about the F 22 landing here. The last few years, they have been using rwy 24/6 for airshow dep/arrivals. The Snowbirds usually land rwy 5. Last year I hung out by rwy 6 some decent footage on my camcorder, even though the weather was overcast.

They are parking at the north parking lot by Derry RD, so I would assume they would be landing 05/23 since it would be just to the north of that runway.
Take care

It looks like with the northerly winds that the planes are gonna come in & land in from Meadowvale.
I figured with yesterdays heat we'd still have a W-SW flow aka Rexdale landings.

Yes, I am really annoyed, I was looking forward seeing them come in through Rexdale.
Take care

Ron, maybe at some point on Friday they might take off?
If that is so we might see 'em.
Who knows which way the wind blows then (damm that sounds like a folk song1)

Just got back from YYZ...literally minutes ago...and they were already on the ground ! I was there 10:30-11:00am and the Mississippi ANG was there, the Snowbirds, two F22s and an F18 with its wings folded up. Ron was right, they were at the North Lounge. I was listening to my pro43 and they were using the milair freq-equivilant of 118.35, 118.70 etc. YES, I took some pics, nothing too fancy, just give me some time to resize & post. While driving along Derry Rd, I did notice some cockpit activity, sooo, the question is, when did they get here ?

Unfortunately, the 2 F-22's landed at 9:00am this morning. Hornet 1 just did a touch and go with a hard pull to the left, at least I got to see that at my work.
More Snowbirds still to come.
Take care

Had to downgrade pics from 7.2 mp to VGA quality. Have to admit, the first pic is a real teaser !!! As for Friday, I remember last year the Snowbirds did some practice moves over the lake, so 272.1 should be something to monitor. Going back to my post #6, I meant to say that they've used 24/6 for when the planes go to and return from the show.

Those are awesome pics ! Looks like we have an insider at YYZ.

To everyone: Are you going to the CNE to watch or hang out by the airport ? I'll be at the airport.

Gotta love those Super Hornets, saw them at Selfridge this year, and they are louder than the older Hornets. Wish I could got to the show just to see the Raptor, but I gotta work all weekend(as usual). The Hornets look like the same ones from Selfridge, same # one the nose, so I'm guessing East Coast Rhino Demo Team, they put on a great show!!
