• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

We have numerous categories in the wiki for defining information; one of them, being somewhat seasonal, has to do with airshows. These are further defined by the state they occur in, and the country...

Category:United States Air Shows - The RadioReference Wiki

Category:Canada Air Shows - The RadioReference Wiki

Look at any of the members to see examples of what can be defined. Pick a state, and go from there..

Please feel free to enter frequencies, and yes, talkgroups too, for any of the air shows you attend into the wiki. If it is a recurring event, then once the article is complete, it can be sent to the DBAs to be included in the database. There isn't any fixed format per se, but if the data is to go to the database as some point, be sure to provide as much information as possible.

Remember to include links to the database where a particular trunk system is in use.

The rest is, as they say, up to you

Mike
