For those of you planning to bring a scanner that can do 800 MHz trunking to the airshow here is a list of what talkgroups on the Lafayette system you will want to monitor. Since it is a fairly busy system with many users I would strongly recommend limiting your scanning to the following talkgroups so that in the event something happens you wont have you listening constantly interrupted by traffic on other irrelevant talkgroups:

1-H - Airport Fire Rescue talkgroup ID 55856. Any fire and rescue services at the airshow will be on this talkgroup including a few pumpers that are normally pulled from other stations to be on standby at the airport to supplement the airports own trucks.

4-K - Airport Security, Talkgroup ID 57360. These are not the deputies you see walking around the airshow grounds and riding 4-wheelers but these are the ones whose regular duty assignment is to work security in and around the terminal. They don't have much to do with the airshow but you may want to listen in on them anyway. Their radio call number are in the 250's

4-O - Sheriff's Reserves, talkgroup ID 57488. The reserves who work the airshows and other functions use 4-O. These are the ones you will see directing traffic, walking around, riding 4-wheelers, etc. Their radio call numbers are in the 500's.

7-D - Airport Maint and Admin, talk group ID 58416.

Was gonna go by the airport and watch the T-Birds do the Friday demo that they usually do for the special needs school kids that is not announced to the public. But - the weather intervened. They require a cloud ceiling of at least 1500 feet AGL or greater to do just a flat show with no vertical manneuvers. The airport is IFR today and the weather station at LFT is reporting complete overcast with a ceiling of only 900 feet AGL. Unless it clears they most likely wont be flying today. Forecast for tomorrow is clear.
