WHAT does the Alabama DPS use in the Gadsden, Birmingham, Talladega use? I have never really heard much out of them when I visit the area? Are the frequencies accurate for the EDACS system in that area? Looks like Gadsden/Birmingham towers have the same frequencies. ANY input would be great as Im programming my scanner from 1000 miles away!! LOL! Thanks y'all.

I live in Sylacauga and I hear them on 158.790,154.920 and 155.505.
I have never heard them on EDACS.
Troopers have told me they don't like it because of to many bugs in the system.

I know around Tuscaloosa, 154.92 is used at the base. I do hear other traffic coming from Birmingham on the same frequency when I get into the Cottondale/Coaling district. I can tell, because each transmission has a distinct sound when they finish TX-ing.

155.445 is the car frequency in Tuscaloosa, and should be the same for the Birmingham area.

158.79/155.475 has been used around Tuscaloosa, although it is very rare.

Thanks y'all. Im gonna wipe the EDACS system right out of the scanner then. No reason for it to take up any room. I'll make sure I have all the VHF frequencies in though!!
MIKE!
