I was wondering if anyone had put together a frequency list of the various stops used by the cruise lines from Ketchican up through Seward/Anchorage? Will be making that trip next summer and am starting some research on the subject.

Also check in with me the month or so, prior and I can see what other ships you might encounter along the way.

As always ANY Freq reports for Cruise Ships [big and small] are well appreciated. :p

Looks like alaska cruise for the west coast soon.
The big lines are leaving LA.and Long Beach, and not going to Mexico due to the drug wars and unrest
there.
Today 1/17/11 not sure what line, but this is the last sail date.
Sooo I am looking forward to the carnavals alaska cruise the spring.
BTW Bill, did you hears this?

Speak Up, its snowing here , eh ??

Yea, seems like they are avoiding Western Mexico, altho the Gulf Coast is still busy.

As always, Let me know what Cruise Dates/Line/Ship and bring your Scanner :)

Hey, who is in the port areas, to sit and find the Cruise Ship Freq's as they are arriving or leaving [Non VHF Marine] I know LB has/had a nice parking area.

Sorry no. My West Coast monitoring for Cruise/Cargo was limited to the Los Angeles area and that was a few years ago. Mostly East Coast of late.

Always looking for more info tho, even Cargo Ship use the UHF Channels.

FRS on board?

Ok I know my 2 meter ht. is really not allowed on board, but are FRS radios ok??
My next question is why but I know I wont understand the answer.
So maybe I can grab my frs and scan the channels, seperate from the scanner.

Most Cruise Lines don't know the difference from a portable scanner to an FRS/GMRS Radio that many folks use to keep track of the little hell-runners. Take the Scanner...with headphones and/or an ear-peice.
