The company I work for uses UHF for company-wide communications. I would like to be able to use my 635 to communicate with others instead of using my cell phone (call me crazy, but I like to keep my personal cell phone from being used for work purposes). I have the frequency programmed in my radio and I can hear radio traffic without the DCS code enabled. I cannot transmit without that DCS code enabled. If I enable the DCS code, I can transmit and be heard but I cannot hear the response.

1)Is there a problem with my radio?

2)If not, is there anything I can do to enable the DCS code only on transmit?

3)Any other suggestions?

Thanks for any help.

Most likely using a different DCS for the input and output frequencies. You can only use your Alinco DR-635 to transmit on Amateur Radio frequencies, since it not approved to operate outside of these bands and has to be modified to do so. You could be subjecting your employer to fines for operating a non Type Accepted Radio on business frequencies.
