Anyone notice in the FCC Database that Allegheny has Licenses for 800 MHz P25 Digital Channels? Anybody hear anything if programmed & what is the 453.4125 NAC-ACE (Incident Command - ENC)

There is activity there, but not much. Many of the 800 MHz frequencies were used by Armstrong County for ICORRS, so I suspect won't be used much in Allegheny County.

You answered your own question in the parenthesis.

Allegheny County P25 for 453.4125 is for SWAT.
Findley Twp has P25 mixed mode for Police.
The City of Pittsburgh School Police use P25. 472.4875 Nac F18
The Port Authority Police recently have been using 453.7625 P25.
Allegheny County 800 Mhz is Open Sky and can't be monitored.

I still wasnt sure about the Incident Command Channel. I still hear SWAT on Pittsburgh Ops. 5. Didnt know about Port Authority though. I have a friend on the Silver team & he said they are adding a few channels including maybe a few 800 channels.

The Allegheny County freq 453.4125 is County Swat, 453.450 channel 5 is the City of Pittsburgh Ops channel and covers SWAT and other thingslike events. So the County has their SWAT and The City of Pittsburgh also has a Swat team , two different freqs.

Port Authority P25 freq is 453.7625 at the time I was using the BCD996t so I couldnt get the NAC for it and it was maybe June or July I heard a few transmissions from Port Authority Police testing on this. I hear them using CW for iding but they havent switched over to it so maybe its a Ops freq for them. I will add the freq to my new scanner and try to get it for you..

Penn Hills use to use 800Mhz analog for thier Police a few years ago. The two freqs have been idle for a few years now and are still in the County data base. So the Silver team may have something their.
854..6875 and 856.5875, Penn Hills dispatched themselves and had some interferance from Nextel and went with County Dispatching and went to UHF 472Mhz. This freed up the 2 800Mhz freqs.

Could be something to that. He said they are adding a few 800 MHz & some new UHF and/or Digital Channels. All I know is region 13 is switching some things around. Just hard to find out now.

I put the jail in. Saved it as a phase 2 just like every other P25 system in case they switch. I only start hearing them near station square on the T & cant hear them on Mt. Washington. I can hear the following P25 up here;

ICORRS (Poor Signal from the Westmoreland Site)
WV SIRN (In the Morning on the Marshall Site with Poor Signal)
PA 700 MHz Air-Ground (Decent Signal in the right spot)
VA Hospital & Other Federal stuff
Allegheny Incident Command (Full Signal)
Pittsburgh School Police (Full Signal)
Columbia Gas (Havent in a while)

All are set to NFM. I tried the FM like i say people talking about and all i noticed is more interference really.

Another note is i get a 856.6875 i think and i dont know where it is. Poor signal on that too.

The Jail uses low power, you will only pick them up if your close to the jail. Allegheny County upgraded to UHF a few years ago. I really don't see them doing a full upgrade anytime soon. A few months ago the jail was analog and they used same freqs, low power and upgraded to P25. What kind of equipment do you have?

I got a BCD436HP with a Baofeng GT-3 Antenna with the adapter and it picks up notably better than the stock antenna. Soon ill have a mag mount on the roof after i set up something. It would be cool if there was some digital we can listen to without encryption.

Hope not! Unfortunately digital has a high probability of also meaning 'encrypted'
