Does anyone have an educated answer as to when Alltel will be switching to AT&T? What kind of upgrades has been done to the AT&T network to inprove coverage, before if you were on the interstates or hwy 83 coverage was decent but if you traveled off the four lane highways it was marginal at best.

I thought they were bought by Verizon. My Alltel account became Verizon automatically a year or so ago.

It's a mess here in Southern MN as well. Verizon bought Alltel but they had to sell some holdings off, which became Unicel, now Unicel is becoming AT&T.

I was originally Alltel many years ago, then i dropped them for Midwest wireless years back because they had a tower near my house and Alltel didn't, then Alltel bought them and i got moved to Alltel once again, then Verizon bought Alltel and i got moved to them. I'm sick of the cell phone baseball.

That's weird I thought Alltel was CDMA, at least the part that Verizon bought up was(obviously). Unless AT&T is looking to get into the CDMA market.
