Putting up an Alpha Delta DX-SWL Sloper antenna, can the high end be mounted to a metal tower, or do it need to be insulated from the tower. Since it comes with it's own ground wire, will the tower interfere with it?

To me the general rule is to keep distance from metal objects. Try it with an insulator and non-conductive rope or line connecting it to the metal tower, putting as much distance as possible between the antenna and tower, and see if it is satisfactory to your reception.

I received mine in the mail today. I mounted a 2x4 off of my tower about 30' up and mounted the antenna off of that. Works good for me. Was able to listen to WWCR out of Nashville, TN. (7.490 MHz and 12.160 MHz).

I have defiantly seen a gain in audio and signal from my long wire antenna I made and have been using. Would like to get other opinions from other on how they like or dislike this shortwave antenna?
