FYI folks. In the case of the Canton site, the new P25 site uses a completely different license with completely separate frequencies. However, all of the neighbors of Canton (which aren't online) use additional frequencies that were added to the existing licenses that serve the active EDACS sites.

The moral of the story is -- don't think that an EDACS site is simply going to magically switch to P25 one day. Instead, it appears they are building out the P25 sites alongside the EDACS and using a minimum of frequencies to accomplish that and test sites -- whilst leaving their EDACS counterparts fully entact during that period. And don't expect to see brand new licenses. Take a look at existing licenses for an EDACS site -- and likely one or more of those frequencies is not in use on the EDACS site and will be used instead to deploy the P25 site side by side.

So it's just best to scan 850-861 mhz occasionally, checking to see if you find a new P25 site with a WACN of 92715. The SysID will be different depending upon the territory you are in. I mean seriously, how long does it take to put a digital scanner into search mode and scan 850-861, stopping on any P25 site, checking its WACN and logging the details if ya find a new one? It takes me longer to use the can than it does to do the scan -- so take your scanner to the can with you :)

A current neighbor list from the Mt Sterling or suspected Bellefontaine site would be nice. I realize that if you caught that with your scanner, you may not have what is needed to find the site neighbor info. Hopefully somebody will attempt to though.

How far is Bellefontaine, Etna, Johnstown, Bloomfield and Cambridge from you? That looks like the only logical locations anywhere near central Ohio. You're probably right on Bellefontaine. Neighbor lists from Site 2 and Mt Sterling (neighbors and associated control channels) would certainly help though.

No edacs control channel is active, and all those other cities are far away from shelby county. So it has to be ''bellefontaine''.

I've added it, but it would really be nice if somebody within earshot of it would run a P25 trunking program on the CC and get all of the active frequencies / alternate CCs, site neighbors, and site neighbor frequencies.

It was never stated that it was monitored from within Shelby Co. That's useful information.

For those of you near Leonard OK, Mt Sterling OH or Bellefontaine OH who have the ability to run DSDPlus to monitor the site, please do so and report back all of the site neighbor information (neighbors, as well as the CC's listed for the neighboring sites).

AEP is making progress in Eastern Ohio. At this point there are [at least] four sites online in Eastern Ohio -- and only a short while ago there was only one online.

I have seen a ton of FCC updates this year for the AEP licenses in all of the states that they serve. I'd say there is a real good chance that other sites are online, and the best way to determine what else might be online is to check the neighbor list for any site currently known to be online.

Leonard has been displaying this the past month or so.
View attachment 75657

What frequency are you parked on when you monitor that? The DB says the Leonard site is 1F1-9.9. But what you are monitoring is 1F1-19.19.

For any site that you can pick up, can you post (a) active control channel, (b) any alternate control channels or frequencies seen in use on the same site, (c) and a list of all neighbors to the site (using N in DSDPlus to list the neighbors) ?

Thanks

857.36250. It used to be site 9.9 and now has changed to 19.19. I'm not sure what they are doing. Haven't seen any voice traffic in quite a while as well.

I realize that without voice comms, you won't necessarily know all the freqs. But can you list all of the active primary/alt control channels shown for Site 19.19 in your Channel Activity window ?

If you live near Pharr TX (Hidalgo Co) you might want to check the freqs out on this license . An FCC update (construction requirement filing) was made for this license. This license contains none of the frequencies listed on the Pharr EDACS site. These freqs are all diff.

Could be a clue that a P25 site is online in Pharr or might be in the near future.

In parts of NW Texas and SW Oklahoma AEP can have up to 60 or more channels licensed at some sites that actually only use 4 or 5 channels. I don't know if that is true in other areas.

So far I haven't seen any NWTX/SWOK sites change to P25.

I noticed the ridiculous number of frequencies on many sites there. Do keep in mind though that they do seem to updating licenses here and there to remove excess. For instance, here is a pending FCC update for Comanche OK (Stephens) :

If you take a look at that, they are removing all but 8 frequencies from that license. One could hope that they might do that for any/all licenses with excessive freqs on them.

What's the RFSS / Site and CC frequency for the site you just checked? I see the neighbors and their freqs, but I don't see a mention of the frequency that you actually picked up the P25 control channel on or a mention of the RFSS-Site.

Ok, maybe I see it - are you saying Etna is 1F6-33.33 with CC of 855.1375 ?
