As the title states, i want an amplified external speaker to use with my BCD436HP while at home. I would love to know what you're using and encourage feedback from you guys!

Amplified External speaker for home use

I don't have a Uniden scanner right now, but I use the Scanner Master Sport Sync radio with my WS1080. *see my photos* The Whistler scanners are so low in volume/gain on conventional analog channels that you can't hear them especially in the car. Digital is different, that's LOUD and clear. So to compensate the Sport Sync radio has an AUX input/out setting I use. I have to turn the Digital volume gain down on my scanner so conventional is LOUD and digital is lowered close to the same volume. It all evens out nicely. At present the Sport Sync radio I use version 2.. is discontinued by Scanner Master. They just came out with Version 3 that is $69.00 for now. I use it in the car too instead of a wired set-up. I just have rechargeable batteries and it's hooked up to my scanner. Works very well.

Thanks for the reply. I'd like to have something with a mount bracket. I'd like to have the uniden bc23a if theres a way use it in home or a similar setup.

For $14 look for a set at amazon searching on Amazon Basics computer speakers. It's a very good sounding set with lots of output.

marksmith---will they work for 536 too for $14. I thought a person needed a power source? I just need a little audio as it sets on the table and have 110v source real close

They need to be plugged into a power source via USB. Either a USB converter to plug into 110 or a USB charger/battery.

Generally all pc speakers run off USB power from the pc, but can be powered for hours using a USB storage battery/charger.

Works fine on a 536.
