All depends where you live, 10 codes change around the nation. Theoretically Fire/EMS should not be using 10 codes.

actually, from listening at least anyway most of amr's stuff both on the company radio as well as CMED (in the new haven area _south central) is plain english although they do use signal 12 for a DOA as well as code 100 and code 200 and signal 16 drunk and 17 psych, then they use new haven fd's 99 for message received. A long time ago they actually had a code sheet for everything right down to bathroom break (lol) but haven't heard those in ages. not sure about the rest of the state

in th waterbury-southington area they rarely use codes, they use plain english, but they do use a couple for the hospital they are transporting to like signal 19 which i think is st marys and 20 which is waterbuy or vise versa and they use loacation numbers such as location 40 for the hab centers and because ill hear them say location 40 ,3rd floor in the east wing

AMR in CT will use a lot of the same codes that New Haven fire & South Central CMED use (the comm center is in New Haven), such as "signal 12" for a DOA. I know they have a code for when the medics refer to their narcotics, i just don't remember what it is.

That means he may not be alive or close to death by the time they arrive at the hospital.
