With the recent discussion about the Online-on-Track site not being accurate, I was wondering if anyone has current info for the North East Corridor. I am taking a trip form New London to Baltimore. I have never listened to Amtrak while riding. I do not want to program all the channels in. Just what Amtrak is using. Thanks, Kevin

On the run from Phila to DC -- 6 trips in the last 1.5 years -- I've not heard any voice traffic worth mentioning. My understanding is that when Amtrak runs on its own rails, electronic signalling replaces much of the voice conversations that I hear when aboard Amtrak running on CSX and BN/UP lines. HTH.

New Haven to New Rochelle: 160.545 MHz then 161.01 & 160.92 MHz to Baltimore.

Add the Amtrak Police too they ride trains and use 161.295, with various PL's.
Between New Haven and New Rochelle the MTAPD provides police services 161.220.

These should cover all your listening needs, I know they use cellular for equipment issues and to reorder food.

In order, North to South...

Main Line NHB (Boston to New Haven)
Main Line MS (Mill River to Springfield)
160.9200 FMN - Road
160.5150 FMN - MOW (aka: Production Channel)

MNCW New Haven Division (New Haven to New Rochelle)
160.5450 FMN - Road

New York Connecting Track (New Rochelle to Sunnyside)
New York Terminal District (Sunnyside to Penn Station 'A')
Main Line NYP (Penn Station 'A' Interlocking to Philadelphia Zoo Interlocking)
160.0100 FMN - Road
160.6500 FMN - Sunnyside Yard / Phildelphia Station Services
160.4250 FMN - Philadelphia Car Department
160.5150 FMN - MOW (aka: Production Channel)

Main Line PW (Philadelphia to Washington)
160.9200 FMN - Road
160.4400 FMN - Washington Car Department/Services
160.5150 FMN - MOW (aka: Production Channel)

And as MTACOP noted Amtrak Police use 161.2950 FMN divisionwide, with the PL depending on what repeater they're using.

The only places you may not hear much is between New Haven and Boston, as well as New Rochelle and Penn.

West of Penn you'll hear plenty due to the density of up to 550 trains per day between Penn and Rahway when you factor in 4 NJTransit routes in various segments. To the South, it's between Wilmington and Baltimore you'll hear the most due to a decent amount of freight traffic. People will try to tell you NS only runs freight at night, and it's not true. The curfew was permanently lifted earlier this year. If CETC can fit it between passenger, they run it.

Excellent thanks. I can't wait.

Actually 161.0100 is shared with NJ Transit so you'll hear more NJ Transit than Amtrak

It's not really shared with NJT. Amtrak handles the dispatching for all trains running on the NEC. This includes the NJT and SEPTA trains operating over the NEC. So, you'll hear Amtrak, SEPTA, and NJT trains on 161.010 and 160.920 in the Philly/Trenton areas.

Just realized I had a complete brainfart after 12hrs of work too. Small correction to myself just to be totally accurate with the road channels...

161.010 Road NFM - New York to Morrisville, PA
160.920 Road NFM - Morrisville, PA to Washington Union Station
