They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Does anyone have a reference where one could learn more about this new system? If it doesn't use cellular networks what band is it operating in to communicate with passenger's phones and laptops? The publicity claims it will be SIX times faster than the previous cellular connection. Perhaps it is using fiber to get to the trackside sites but those will probably be in the 2.45 GHz band. Wonder if it will improve peoples Internet in the vicinity?

"Officials said that the wireless system will be constructed from dedicated trackside networks rather than cellular-based networks. Amtrak is now working to implement the upgrades on the remainder of the Northeast Corridor fleet, including all Northeast Regional trains."
