BCD436HP/BCD536HP: An Unknown with a TGID #, Issue

I have been able to program everything that I want to hear with my BCD436HP, using Sentinel and the RR Database.
But, I do have one issue that is baffling to me.

I will try to describe what I see and hear:
In the Top Screen Section of the scanner, I will hear and see the Sheriff Dept. or Constable or Houston Police along with there ID's and Pct's or Districts(locations) and Sites.
The Systems can be on P-25 or Motorola, it does not matter which.

I can hear and can see everything that I programed in the scanner is working Great.

But sometimes I will hear and see, In the Middle Screen Section,the word Unknown with a TGID number showing up in the Bottom Screen Section.
Even though everything else to be working great.
Can somebody tell me What is causing the UNKNOWN with a TGID Number?

Do you see anywhere on the screen that says ID Searching? If so then that is what you are doing, Searching for new TGs along with ones you already have. If you do not want to do this then change it to ID Scan. Personally I like to search. Its the unknown factor.

I have an HP-1, not an x36, but it sounds like ID search is on as rcool said. It will search for any talk groups on that system other than the ones you have programmed. You can find some interesting stuff with ID search. Make a note of the TGID (number) and then check the database and you will know what it is and if it is something you may want to program. Or, if you only want to hear what you have programmed, change it to ID Scan.

Only problem with ID searching is if you have a big metro system. You will get bombed with unknowns. The local trunked system I listen to I haven't seen an unknown in a year and a half. The state system and local towers I have programed I might get 5 a day......I think another solution could be to hit Avoid and it will be temporarily locked out. Hit avoid 2 times and you'll never see that TG# again

The Unknown& TGID#

Thank you Very Much rcool101 and dmg1969 for solving my The Unknown& TGID# Issue.

I turned OFF the ID Search and I don't see the The Unknown& TGID# any more.
