• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I'm sure this is a PICNIC (problem in chair, not in computer) problem.
Windows Vista
BCD 396XT
Latest version of FreeScan

Trying to load and assign a quick key for Shawnee, KS PD. I import the Johnson County APCO 25 700 system, uncheck all entities then check Shawnee . Upload to computer.

Two things happen. 1) all preprogrammed systems (QK 21-46) are activated. 2) The entire Johnson Couty P25 system is scanned, but only Shawnee has a name tag.

What am I doing wrong.

When you uploaded to scanner, you had the box "send system quick key status" That enable all of them. What a pain..done that more than once. You will have to disable all 25. Not sure about second issue. Maybe you did NOT have the "replace existing sys with same name" checked. If not, then you can read the systems in the scanner and delete a duplicate. Actutally, I would delete both(if you have 2 with same name) and reload it. I have no idea if that is the problem, but it is worth a try.

Thank you! That took care of the first problem. I did have the Replace box checked.
