Don't know for sure, but I would guess maybe Safety Officer.

Safety Officers have been added to departments in the last 15 years or so and are responsible for any safety issues at fire scenes. This can be unsafe acts, unsafe building conditions, firefighter accountability, etc. This position has the authority to stop any actions they feel are unsafe. The SO can overrule the incident commander.

BTW, that is the job I have at my FD.

SO-2 responds to all working fires and any other times when needed i.e(working fires=fire burning, large EMS assignments, Hazmats and any other time the in charge officer needs him/her there.) He is in charge of all saftey aspects on they fireground scene, what that means is he gets all the accountability tags from all the crews on scene, he is in charge of "PAR on the fireground" And to many other things to yack about in here. It really depends on what he/she responds to as what their job is.

Not sure if there is a female SO-2 yet but I was just being "correct in my equal gender rolls"
