I am new to amateur radio so pardon my ignorance. I received two disassembled antennas from a neighbor that was moving away and had no license. Her father was the Ham and passed away in 2003. He worked at Collins Radio here in Cedar Rapids and I am told by retired employees he was one of Art Collins top technicians and is mentioned several times in the book "Arthur Collins - Radio Wizard". He worked on the SSB project and others.

The first is a Cushcraft and appears to be a vertical and the second is a Hy Gain. The Hy Gain is packed in a box but from what little I can tell is likely a beam.

My question is, are there any identifying marks or labels on these so I can determine what I actually have? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

The only pix I could supply at present is a pile of metal tubes in a box. I do not own a HF radio so assembling them would not be of any advantage to me as of this time. I will dig through the pile to see if anything is obvious. Thanks for trying to help.

Did some more digging into the crumbling cardboard boxes and found that the Cushcraft is likely a R7000+ as There was a box end with R80 printed on it and a partial instruction sheet.

The Hy Gain is either a TH3 MK3 or 4 but the label was destroyed by some duct tape. I have a bit of info as to how to differentiate between the two and will figure it out at a later date.

Thanks for the help.

David,

If you need a manual for the TH3-MK3, try the link below. It's about 800K. I had a TH3-MK3 on a 50' tower for more than 10 years. It worked great. I sold it along with the tower a few years ago. The hard part is identifying the traps once the labels wear out.

I opened the box and determined the Hy Gain is a TH3-MK3. Thanks for the manual link, I printed it out.
