Antenna Mast Question

Has anyone here ever used a tree stump(12-15 inches in diameter) as an antenna base ? Tree has been down about 5-6 years but is not totally dead.I can bore a hole down and mount my 15 foot pole into it.Any ideas good or bad?

Good as any other mast / mount that is not on a vehicle. But what antenna are you planning?

It depends. I had a small tree stump in Tallahassee that I could not get rid of by sawing chopping or burning with Potassium Nitrate and fuel oil. It is probably still there. Others just rot away in a few years leaving nothing behind.
