Does anyone know of a web site that deals Just in antenna's?

I do my searches like the rest of you, but it sure would be nice to compile
all the data and put it on one location.

The wiki is awesome for sure.

I would just like to see as mentioned above a Repository type setup.

I have a domain,i need to see if i can get something put together.

A repository for what, specifically? Perhaps the wiki can serve, if you aren't successful with your domain? 73 Mike

What i want to do is create a site that contains as much information as possible on antenna's

Pictures
Details
Use
Available Locations for purchase
Reviews

Including such topics as

Homebrew's
Does and Dont's
Tip's
Mod's
Mounting
New Products
etc.etc.etc.

To cover as many as possible in reference to Communications,Scanners,Ham,CB,Shortwave

Everything except T.V.

Might be a very large undertaking, in fact it probably will be
But it would be awesome to be able to go to one location for
all (or as much as can be gathered) the info.

It's possible, it would just be a daily thing to obtain information
and post it, as well as getting permission from locations to use
their information or hot linking and all that legal stuff.

Like all site's start small and continue to grow, and in a short period
of time, it would be a very useful site for all.

There, i think i got it all out... :)

I have started to put this together.

When i have more info gathered, i will post the link.

Worked all day sunday on it and only have 22 antenna's listed
so you can see, it will take some time and effort, but i really
want this to work, so i am going to continue working on it
and i will post the results, when i am and least 1/2 way finished.

Will be nice to have everything concerning Scanner antenna's in one place

I have decided to do ONLY scanner antenna's and nothing else.
Believe me, there are a Sh*t load of scanner antennas on the market.

sounds a little like the eham.net user reviews....

between that, the wiki, and a little antenna theory and grounding information, there's really not much more to it all.... at least with respect to normal UHF/VHF/HF antennas...it DOES get a little more tricky when you start into waveguide, etc....

I just want to show all the antennas that are available
and NO site show's that.

And sorry to disagree, but there is allot more to it
then most know, and for anyone new to the scanner hobby, you rely
on information like this.

I just do not like the fact you have to click from link to link to link to link, to research
an antenna or to find spec's for an antenna

Everything in one location is going to benefit everyone and hurt no-one.

If i want to know about a specific antenna or just search a freq based antenna, i don't want to have to read through page after page of reviews, that's what i was doing and that is waht caused me to start putting the information together.

I agree with you, let us know when you get it up and going. I would like to see it. :)

Any updates on the new website?

I posted on this a couple of day's ago and it got moved to the Wastelands,(not sure why,i would have preferred it stay in general discussion, but just the same)
http://www.radioreference.com/forums/showthread.php?t=108035

I have been floaded with overtime at work and have had little to NO time to work on the site.

If anyone is interested in helping out, that would be great, otherwise the site will have to waite till i have the time to make it public.

It is on the net but all search engines and crawlers have been shut off until the site is at least 80% or so completed.

I've been toying with the idea of buying one each of all the major scanner antennae readily available on the market and running side-by-side tests on them just for this sort of project. Not because I need all those antennae, as I am already firmly set on my needs. But just because "what's the best antenna" is such a common question here that it would be nice to have some qualified and quantified info for those people instead of a bunch of subjective opinions that aren't measured against anything else.

Anyhow, if you get this thing up and running, I might go ahead with it and you can post the resulting information there. Then hopefully someone will buy all those stupid antennae from me without me having to take too big a loss.
