What is the best type of antenna for a handheld scanner? I have a Pro-94 and 2 antennas. One is rubber covered, about 6 inches tall and came with my PRO-76. The other is some sort of metal or alluminum, about 6 inches tall but can be extended to about 2 feet long. Which is better?? Does the longer extendable one get better reception or will it pick up reception to a further distance? I am new to this and really dont know much about it........

At the risk of sounding a bit pointed, you are the best person to
answer this question. Pick a weak, steady signal on one antenna and
switch to the other for comparison. Try it on a few different weak
signals from different sources. Try out different frequency bands (hint:
the adjustable-length antenna should be adjusted for best signal
strength, which may not always be the maximum length).
