Recently extended my Antron A99 higher at the advice of some friends. I've got the base of this guy 18-19 feet in the air. Downside is I've got 120' of RG213 cable going to it. No real way to shorten it due to the placement of the antenna compared to the base station (Bearcat 880). What kind of performance should I expect on this guy (local and hopefully skip)?

Antenna: Antron A99
Radio: Uniden Bearcat 880 with an Astatic MIC
Coax: 120' RG213
SWR: 1 = 1.0, 40 = 1.4
Optional amp: KL203P

Shorten your radiating element by 1/4 to 1/2 inch is the only thing I can see here.
That should cut down your standing waves on the upper frequencies.

Antron 99 is a CB/10 meter antenna. I still have my older one from the 80's that has the rings to fine tune the band. Was able to pick up refueling tankers on HF coming back over the pacific from minnesota. Not sure how the newer antron 99's are designed.
