• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Anyone else still using V1?

Own a 396 and as of yet, haven't applied the new updates.

My only complaint, if you will, is less than great P25 reception, which varies both within the same system, and from system to system.

Based on the reports I've read here, I'm reluctant to risk what I'm currently enjoying, as I'd really be upset if this radio became 'disabled'.

Perhaps if a later upgrade is announced that will be universally successful, I'll go with it. I'm assuming that as in the past, all upgrades will be cumulative (Upman, if you're listening, could you comment on that).

Just wondered if there are many other hold-outs out there.

The reports you've seen are not worthy of scaring you off... Do it.
