Hello,

Hope that this is the most appropriate Forum for this.
If not, please let me know.

Have been using COM0COM for many years to establish virtual ports between my SDR radios and my W10 pc.
But am stumped on how to do the following ?

I am trying to connect my old JRC NRD 545 to a W10 pc.
I have a program (old) that should be able to control the NRD 545 just fine.
Many years ago it worked.

And, I have the correct cable from the 545 to the pc that I used (has a null modem in it)

The output from the radio is via a RS232 Port. The pc has a usb input, of course.

In Com0Com, I see no way to tell it that the radio output is 232.

How would I configure Com0Com for this kind of a situation, please ?

Not too sharp with this, so would appreciate a detailed explanation, please.
Also, there's the old age thing now.

Thanks,
Bob

Hi,
Thanks for help.

The cable I made up many years ago.

It seems to be:
One cable end goes to the 232 connector in the radio. The long thin type.
The other end goes into a Null Adapter block from RS
The other end of the Null Adapter goes into another cable that has a USB at the end. This goes into th pc.

Not sure what you mean by a RS232 Adapter.

Regards,
Bob
