What is the 'use' AND what is the difference between the AOR SDU 5600 and the AOR SR-2000.

A few differences I see right off the bat: SDU5600 has a wider frequency range with coverage starting at 10 khz vs the SR-2000's lower limit of 25 MHz. The SR-2000's upper limit of 3GHz is higher than that of the SDU5600 (2.6 GHz) Also the SR-2000 is intended to be purchased "for government use only"

@W3JMC

Ok, thanks for the reply. There were each of these listed on eBay (United Kingdom) and was wondering their differences. I have an Icom IC-R8600 and it would seem as if both of these devices from AOR are just the same as the Bandscope the Icom IC-R8600 uses.

(just a toy for me to play with more than anything)

Thanks @W3JMC

That is completely incorrect!

The SDU5600 is only a display that takes an IF input, it requires a separate receiver like an AR8600 or AR5000 with an IF output. The SR2000 is a complete receiver with the display built in. They are all quite old technology, the SR2000 FFT search is quite a good feature though.
