An API, or Application Programming Interface, is a way for developers to include content from another source in their own application. For example, a web developer may use an API provided by NASDAQ or Bloomberg LP to include his company's stock price in the company website. In terms of the RR Live Audio API, it allows web site owners to include a live stream of their feed in their website, so they can display it to users comping to their website, instead of redirecting them to RR.
