Has anyone else noticed that APRS.fi has not been tracking data tails on moving position locations during the last few day....is this a website issue? Not sure what the problem is...or did a windows update mess things up on my end?...LOL

The Google maps will probably go away on aprs.fi due to the cost increase. There may be changes implemented that affect your views using Google maps. There could be other issues as well.

To see what aprs.fi will more than likely work/look like in the future you may want to check out https://beta.aprs.fi

Alternatively, there is https://www.aprsdirect.com but I am unsure if they will continue to use Google Maps as well, due to that fee structure change.

APRS

Thank you for the update regarding GoogleMaps and APRS.fi, appreciate the links....the https://www.aprsdirect.com/ is working great. The https://beta.aprs.fi/ has a different map look but still not working on my end....not sure, will continue to monitor this, but the aprsdirect.com is doing a nice job.
Thank you for your input.

aprs.fi, aprsdirect.com, findu.com, and every other web-based representation of APRS data all get that data from the same APRS-IS feeds.

What are you trying to track that shows a track on one, but not the other?

Name the city.....Spokane, WA, or Seattle, APRS.fi shows location of stations, but no trials tracking movement of mobile stations, aprsdirect.com shows tracking trails or tracking tails, same location ...APRS.fi was showing tails consistently until about 3 days ago, then it stopped.

aprs.fi, by default, limits the length of any track to the most recent 1 hour time period. On the right side of the page is a pull-down box labeled "Track tail length". If you change it to a longer period of time, you are more likely to see tracks.

As I type this, it's 4 am in Spokane. I wouldn't expect many APRS position reports in motion at this time of day. And, the default 1 hour track setting on aprs.fi shows nothing in motion. But, if I change the Track tail length to 12 hours, I see a couple tracks.
