Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Cant seem to figure this out, in the APX CPS I have a Conventional MDC System set up. All Conventional Personalities are set up with the MDC System and Channels with the correct PL/DPL Codes. In Conventional Personality Under Non-Astro Signalling if "MDC" is Selected the radio does not allow the transmission to be heard, the RX led flashes and if the "MON" button is pressed the transmission is heard. Now if Non-Astro Signalling is set to ''NONE" the transmission will be heard. According to the Help File it should be set to MDC. Never have had this issue with any other radio model. Also with ''DOS" enabled, why I am I still hearing the Pre-MDC Squawk on received transmissions?

Your signalling should be set to disabled. If you have it set to MDC, that means the radio is going to look for the MDC, and it won't un-mute until it finds it. Same thing with Quick Call. The channel won't un-mute if it's set to QC.

With DOS it depends what your settings are. I keep mine at 1200/1800 Hz and Coast time 275 and it sounds nice. If you don't want to hear the ID at all, you can change those settings to your liking.

Are you sure? My guess would be that he has selective call decode turned on. Maybe the radio is looking for a selective call and won't unmute until it receives one. Try turning off selective call decode. That fixed the problem for me while allowing me to leave MDC on, albeit on an XTS 5000 haha

Now that you mention it, I'm not sure. A screenshot from OPs signaling tab would be awesome.

I just took a look at my APX... I have MDC setup on our fire channels and don't have any issues receiving general transmissions.

Under Rx Options - Voice is Non-ASTRO, Unmute / Mute Type is UnMute, Or Mute
Under Signalling - Non-ASTRO - Type is MDC, Proper system is selected under System Number and PTT ID is checked
Under Non-ASTRO Call - Sel Call & Call Alert are disabled. MDC is set to None.

That did it Fellas, my Selective Call was set to Decode, Disabled it and now the "DOS" is working correctly along with MDC enabled in the Personality Tab. Thank You for the assistance.

I just ran into this; you need to set Selective Call unmute type to OR. CPS sets it to AND when you enable selcall decode.

Unmute Type (Conventional Personality, Non-ASTRO Call)
AndBoth the current personality’s selected Unmute / Mute Type rule, and Selective Call detection must be satisfied before unmute occurs.
OrEither the current personality’s selected Unmute / Mute Type rule, or Selective Call detection will unmute the radio's speaker to receive audio.
