Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Has anyone programmed a few AES-256 keys into a APX1500 enhanced? I’m having trouble figuring out how to put the keys in. I thought the 1500’s were supposed to be able to support up to 8 keys. Maybe they are talking just ADP keys and not AES. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You are probably missing multikey in your flashcode.

Right, but I think the OP can use the programming cable and the KFDtool software, like the APX 900.
Sure, he could, however a) he asked about how he can add 8 keys, yet doesn't have multi-key and b) he said that he's not sure how to even enter the keys, meaning he likely doesn't know about a KVL, much less KFDtool. So everything else is kind of moot/academic at this point.

Okay thanks for the help. I figured it was because it didn't I had multi-key. I wasn't sure though since these are more like the APX900's with the software AES. My experience has been with programming and loading keys with a KVL5000 into APX8000 and 8500 radios. Haven't messed with any 1500's or 900's yet though. This is my first one of those so it has been a little bit of a learning experience.

Good luck getting multi-key. I have been waiting a year for a flash for a police department mobile that accidentally got ordered without it. Moto doesn't seem to want to fill the order.
