• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Either you don't the proper flashcode for TDMA or you don't have the proper bandplan for TDMA.

and yes my radio is flashed for TDMA. wouldn't give me the option to use FDMA or TDMA if it wasnt. Attached is a pic someone sent me and i put those into the radio. Cant or dont have a option for starting point 0 so its in slot 1 FDMA and slot 9 for TDMA

If all the TG's are TDMA and you hear any of them it's not a programming issue. Maybe those others are encrypted?

Negative on the encryption. Had no issues with my G5. Guess crazy question is how do you tell if they are actually TDMA? I've been told some aren't on TDMA. So they are basically running phase1&2

1 or other band plans? So in theory I need other slots filled not just 1 & 9?

You need one TDMA and one FDMA bandplan element for each frequency band (700, 800, whatever). If you are hearing any calls at all at least one of them is correct. I can't tell you which one is correct.

And this is all assuming you have no other issues going on.

Did you do the little inter-WACN trick that is necessary to successfully follow a Harris system?

I've never had any issues monitoring Harris systems with various APX models. The key is to have the correct band plan (aka ASTRO 25 Channel ID), otherwise it's not going to track any voice activity. I normally set coverage to either SmartZone or Inter-WACN, set the SysID and WACN to the real values, disable Motorola Proprietary Features, and disable Validate NAC Against System ID.

I'm a goober, I meant on the FDMA. Sorry again.

Some TG's work so I wouldn't expect that to be it.

It's impossible to say with any confidence without seeing the code plug but I suspect the OP is able to decode the FDMA but not the TDMA due to the inter-WACN & SYSID/WACN settings.
