• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

If you are in Arkansas or Oklahoma could you give a listen to 164.15 PL 110.9 and 168.75 PL 110.9?

164.15 should be low power air to ground for the Natl Forests - possibly primarily used for cargo hauling and water drops

168.75 should be aerial fire detection on the Natl Forests with calls to "Hot Springs Dispatch" - there might be initial air to ground comms on this freq also

Neither channel is repeaterized AFAIK

I don't know about OK and AR but in Texas 168.750 PL 110.9 is listed in the southen region mobilization guide as Lufkin helibase and the Texas Forest Service frequency plan as USFS air to ground primary.
