ARC 996 USB Cable Can't Communicate

Scanner Master Bearcat USB Cable

First I downloaded PL2303 Driver for Windows XP (not Vista) and ran that program.

I have "Restarted" Windows.

Open ARC996 and attempt to READ DATA.

I get ARC 996 Error Message:
Serial port is not available or used by other software.

I have the USB plugged into the front USB port on Inspiron 530 w/ Windows XP

Look in the device manager to see what port was assigned to the cable, make sure the setting is the same in the software.

Found Driver ComPort 4

After clicking around some, I went into ARC 996 and found COM Port 4.

That got her going.
