ARC996 Basic software no auto detect function

JUST BOUGHT ARC996 BASIC SOFTWARE AND SENT TO THE SCANNER. WHAT HAPPEND TO THE SCANNER AUTO DETECT FUNCTION?

The Auto Detect function in ARC996 Basic is right where it's always been.....

Do you have a BCD996T, BCD996XT, or BCD996P2? The 996T uses ARC996. The 996XT and 996P2 use ARC-XT. The AutoDetect Scanner button is there on my ARC996 software also.
