Actually, the left and right outboard pins (Motorola labels them 9 and 10) are keypad row and keypad column lines for the AARMN4026 DTMF microphone. The eight pins between 9 and 10 are labeled the same 1 through 8 as several other mics lik the HMN1035 and HMN1056. There are several desk mics that will also fit. (Info straight out of the CDM service manual.)
A couple of years ago, we ordered a new desk mic from the CDM accessory catalog. When it arrived, I spotted the 8P8C RJ-45 connector. Having heard all the advice in here about not using the RJ-45 in an RJ-50 socket, I called Motorola and ended up speaking with a product engineer. He assured me that it was OK to do so.
As a side note, I ended up purchasing both RJ-45 and RJ-50 crimping dies and a small stock of both plugs. Over the years, I’ve been able to repair all kinds of mic connectors, and built some custom length CAT-5 cables. Not a bad investment looking back.
