Arkansas State Police Talkgroup Locations

Just a reference, i submitted the folling data after traveling through Arkansas and missing alot of the troops, i found alot of the location data was incorrect

troop D's Lat and lon put it near olive branch, MS

Have some corrections to Arkansas State Police Talkgroup Locations

The problem is that the State Police do not transmit from their headquarters for the most part, they use the AWIN system that transmits from these towers:

Plot your route and load the appropriate towers into your TSYS files and you will hear them without a problem.

ps: State Police and Highway Police are two different entities. ASP drives white cars with blue markings and AHP drive silver/gray cars and are part of the state highway dept responsible for truck weights and standards. Both will write you a ticket for speeding, though.

LOL got that right, ASP, and AHP will get ya for speed, and WILL pop you in construction zones in a heartbeat. ASP as stated is the Arkansas State Police, and are the statewide law enforcement agency responsible for not only highway patrol, but also criminal investigations, sexual predator investigations, and general law enforcement statewide. AHP, the Arkansas Highway Police, are the enforcement division of the DOT, enforcing Motor Carrier Regulation from semis, to railroads. They are officially law enforcement officers, and as such can pop you for speeding, etc... The AWIN Tower Map is accurate as far as sites etc. Ranges for the towers is in the 20 to 30 miles tops for most of them. Some of them have a bit farther range due to placement on mountians. Generally speaking, the coverage is pretty darn good for what the state wanted. There are some areas that really do need additional towers. As for County/Municipality AWIN usage, to really be cover everyone, the individual Counties/Municipalities will have to build thier own additional sites, much like the SAFE-T, LWIN, MSWIN, etc.

The way I set up the talk groups for the most part is correct
The talk group lat and Lon are on a seperate page from tower locations and really only affect the home patrol
Troop D was centered in olive branch ms and others were way off
So the way the talk groups are set up are centered at the troop hq with a radius circle encompassing all the counties that troop covers so if you have a home patrol and are in the radius of that troop you will hear it on whichever towers are affiliated with it
Tower data did not change
