• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have this same question in batlabs but am not getting much response. Thought I would try here....

have an 800 MHz W4 astro spectra D04UJF9PW4AN, flash code 500008-000480-0 with VOCON HLN6458H, firmware 10.71.00.00 and DPS N08.03.03 and would like some info on this configurations. I know it is astro P25 but would like to know more about it. I am able to read it with CPS 5.03 but am not able to write to it for conventional use. It keeps asking me for advanced system key. I do not know how to shut off the trunking (if even possible) to verify conventional tx and rx. The software shows it is rebanded (it shows rebanded 700_800 in software), but can someone verify it by those numbers I listed? Any other info appreciated. Also any info on that VOCON is appreciated.
I am good with conventional spectras but have no experience with the trunking models, especially P25 versions. I aquired these in a trade and just getting my facts in order.

Thanks in advance.....all info welcome.

Forget Batlabs, they are brain dead are only interested in their for sale board and have no patientence for anybody with a Motorola trunking question. Same for here at RR, they all think they are the radio police. Go sign up with P25.CA, very smart group of posters have a large database with information for Motorola current products, and have reasonable answers for Motorola trunking questions. As far as your radio being ASK programmed you may be F**ked, but there was a similar question asked recently and the solution was handled off board.
