Atlanta Public Safety P25

Hi. I anyone else having a problem not hearing Atlanta Public Safety P25 System on a Pro-668?

I have spent several hours with a friend who lives in Atlanta and we CANNOT receive Atlanta Police however we can receive Cobb County just fine.

The only difference we can see is that Cobb County is NFM......but Atlanta Public Safety P25 is listed as FM. We noticed the custom tables are autofill on Atlanta Public Safety P25 as imported from RR using the Radio Shack Software.

I would appreciate anyone who is successfully monitoring Atlanta Public Safety P25 with a Pro-668 to chime in.

You mean Fulton County P25 Trunking System, Atlanta, Georgia - Scanner Frequencies Fulton Co Phase II, no band plan needs to be added, it will be received over the air when scanner has receiption from one of the sites. "Data Decode Threshold" set wider could help to hear System Sites 25-75.

Hello and thanks for replying.....No I mean Atlanta Public Safety P25 Trunking System, Atlanta, Georgia - Scanner Frequencies Atlanta Public Safety P25 as per the link referenced above. Are you telling me that in order to listen to Atlanta Police that we need to use another system? We are trying to listen to Atlanta Police. I do not see Atlanta Police listed in the system you referenced.

The CoA is not on our system. They have their own Astro 25 7.14 simulcast system.

Are you telling me that in order to listen to Atlanta Police that we need to use another system? We are trying to listen to Atlanta Police. I do not see Atlanta Police listed in the system you referenced.

APD is on the CoA system for all zones (1-6, FIT, SOS, etc), as is AFR, all airport ops, etc.

They do have cross programming on other metro systems in their subscribers, but all their daily ops are on the CoA system.

Most of the P25 systems in our area (except MARTA) use CQPSK-LSM, which consumer scanners are complete utter GARBAGE at receivin

Not a 668, but a 1088. Was in the ATL last Saturday. No problems hearing PD and FD. You will want to use AutoFill. There were a couple of systems near me that I couldn't receive. Was told about that feature. Never a problem since. Maybe try the NFM. The database here is riff with errors.

Ok thank you sir. I appreciate it. A friend of mine that lives in Atlanta and I were on the phone for 3 hours yesterday trying to get this figured out. He lives in Atlanta and I live in Cary, NC. He has a Pro-668 as do I. I was loading it on my scanner so I could follow what he was doing (realize I cant hear it from here) and see all the specific settings for the site.
No matter what he entered and boy did we try all different configurations could he hear Atlanta Police. He was not even getting a T in the upper left hand corner indicating he was getting the CC channel.
I still felt limited being on the phone and trying to duplicate his experience the best I could.
His usb port on the scanner is defective so he has to write to the sd card via the scanner software only.....not able to connect the pc to the scanner via the programming cable is a major issue. We did note that his DSP version is 1.1...I think DSP ver is up to 1.3. His CPU ver is current.

Not being able to be there was a limiting factor in my ability to completely feel like I totally saw everything as if the scanner was in front of me.....he has not been able to get his scanner to work with Atlanta Police Department and I just want to help.

If you or anyone would be willing to share screen shots of your configuration for the Atlanta Public Safety P25 I think that would also help.......I appreciate anything you or anyone can do.

My friend does work in Public Safety for the Atlanta area.

Your performance of a consumer scanner on any of the metro Atlanta trunked radio system may vary greatly as these scanners lack the proper circuitry to cleanly demdoulate CQPSK-LSM simulcast.

Some people have better results than others.

What des was saying, is that the ATL system is a simulcast system. It makes it harder for scanners to receive. Erik beat me to the answer.

Same Location..if you look at the FCC data..says they are in the site physical sites..
