I recently went down to AC this past weekend and although I spent most of my time enjoying the casinos and the bars, I did do some scanning. I found some good frequencies. The first thing I would like to mention is that although radio reference database ONLY lists the 900 MHz range frequencies for Bally's (which I heard loud and clear in analog mode), there are several 400 MHz frequencies they still use! The same goes for Sands Casino Hotel and probably others that I didn't have the chance to monitor. Here they are:
Bally's Operations: 464.100, 464.575, 461.925, 464.600, 157.740, 461.550, 462.775, 463.775, 463.600, 464.775 and of course the 900 MHz talk group system

Sands Casino and Hotel: 463.500, 463.325, 462.000, 461.475, 463.675, 464.850, 464.975, and of course their 800 MHz talk group system.

*I also would like to add that sometimes without thinking, the guards at Bally's were even giving lock combinations over the air! Very careless if you ask me because you never know if a criminal is listening!!

There's more! I also noticed that a group is licensed down there called SET Communications (which I would assume the boardwalk vendors/operations use). I can confirm hearing them on 451.550 and 464.250. However, they are also licensed on 451.600, 451.700, 451.750, 461.175, 462.025, and 451.175. Does anyone know if these frequencies are used by the boardwalk vendors or some other group???

AC First Aid were poaging out on 155.175. I can also confirm hearing ACPD (traffic units) still using the conventional frequencies of 155.130 and 460.425.

Also, not licensed by the FCC, however AC cabs were using 152.390 (spanish speaking).

Sands Hotel Frequencies

Yeah, someone was definitely using them! I definitely heard activity which sounded casino related on those frequencies when I was down there last Saturday. In the FCC database, they are listed as Greate Bay Hotel/Sands. I signal stalked a few of the "Sands" frequencies leaving AC on the expressway. Perhaps Borgata is using them now?? Also, when you're down in AC, program 161.370 into your scanner. NJ Transit PD was using that as their main channel in the AC area. I'm still curious as to who exactly uses those SET Communications frequencies in the 451 MHz range down there and any casino bus frequencies someone may have.

Interesting. I am due for a comp room this week or next, so I will give them a listen. SET communications might be the Boardwalk Hall and/or AC Convention Center security and OPS.

Great! Keep us updated. If you can determine who's using those SET frequencies or hear any Casino Buses that would also be very helpful!

The Sands radio traffic

Pinnacle Entertainment (d/b/a Pinnacle Atlantic City) which purchased and then closed the Sands maintains their Atlantic City offices there until construction on the new resort starts after which they will move to temporary digs and as I am to understand from reading in the local newspaper after the Sands closed the new owners had to receive special permission from the Casino Control Commission and the Division of Gaming Enforcement to keep all of the old slot machines and gaming tables on property and in a secured area until all of that equipment could be properly disposed of since Pinnacle does not currently hold a gaming license in the State of New Jersey and as a result there most likely has to be tight security maintained in and around any gaming equipment, I also suspect they have security to keep their competitors from finding out their development plans are for the new resort.

A lot of the Sands frequencies are used by other casinos owned by Harrahs Entertainment.

I need to review my list from August and update users on the database.

Just a side note the Borgota uses a 900Mhz trunked system for all operations! Although I have yet to find the talkgroup used in the pokeroom so maybe they have a couple of UHF frequencies. Although so many businesses besides the casinos are using UHF frequencies down th ere we may never know who's using t hem That's interesting that you're still hearing pd on 155.1300 and 460.425 I have to pop those back in!!

I have not checked into the Borgota system yet. We normally stay at Showboat. That system was also not used to full extent.

The buffet was on the system for awhile than used FRS radios and the last time we went down they had nothing? The SMALLER Restaurant was on the 800 system... Also the new House of Blues were using the itnerant frequencies heavy.

You never know what activity you will find each time you visit..

Guys,

I was the one that did the primary map-out on the Borgata system 2 years ago & put it here in the database.

Mostly casino admin & security are the only ones that use it. Casino ops, pit bosses, restaurant managers, etc. all use NEXTEL's (there is a NEXTEL repeater in the casino, BTW. Just check your signal on the bottom floor in the bathrooms!).
