I have a Uniden 996XT that I would like to attach a attic mounted antenna too. I need a multi-band antenna that is 4'5" or less in height. I was gonna use a WBD-40 Discone, but that is too high. Any other suggestions from you guys would be highly appreciated. Must be Multi-directional...

Thank you....

I still very much love the Radio Shack "Sputnik"... just Google 20-176.

Remove the stinger from the discone. It isn't used except to improve the antenna's performance on Lo-band. The antenna will still work over it's complete range but will be pretty deaf below about 60 - 70 MHz.

Im new at this, so i am assuming that the stringer is the long one in the middle.. I dont need low band as I am just listening to normal Public safety on conventional and P25 systems...
