    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value.     The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Audiofeed into PD705 Radio

Hi All,

I am busy with a project and i want to link a computer (laptop / raspberry pi) with it's 3,5mm jack output to a PD705 radio. On this computer i have triggers setup to play at static times, the audio played by the computer should goto the PD705 and broadcasted to all users.

I programmed the radio into VOX mode, if i connect a speaker mic or surveillance set the VOX works and automaticly opens the PTT to transmit audio.
I did try to adjust such a speakermic and connect the mic + and mic - wires directly to a 3,5 jack and connected it to the computer.
It works, sort of.. the audio sounds very distorted and VOX closes after 1 or 2 seconds even though audio is playing.

My feeling tells me this is not the correct way to set this up, i think the output level voltage from a line level audio port (3,5mm jack) is to big for the radio.

Could somebody help me and/or point me in the right direction? It would be great to get this working.

yes, it seems like it's to strong, but then in in theory the VOX should keep the channel open (with distorted audio) instead of closing it.

Isn't there another way to achieve this? Another cable or way to interconnect them.
What about the wireless bluetooth adapter (ADN-01), can this be paired with a computer and then let the computer send audio over bluetooth?
