Austin Triplexer for VHF-UHF and 800/900

Hello friends.

Somebody has installed this triplexer to use 3 antennas (VHF/UHF and 800) to a single scanner?

I have read several discussions about triplexer and see that there are many opinions.

Look this triplexer in the AUSTIN ANTENNA site:

I see two versions:
Passbands:
*Amateur Unit: 140/150 - 220/225 - 440/470 MHz

*Commercial Unit: 135/170 - 430/512 - 800/900 MHz

I have these 3 anttenas (800 Phantom, VHF Phantom and UHF Phantom) to install in my car.

I listen your opinions.

I use a triplexer in a base station setup.

VHF/UHF/800 base station gain Antenex antennas fed into triplexer(pole top 15db amp for the 800 antenna), then quality coax (LMR-400) down to a couple of notch filters for pager intermod, then into a Stridesburg multicoupler which feeds a bank of 4 scanners.

VERY happy with the results over a single broadband scanner antenna.

Hi Trunkve and all,

"VHF/UHF/800 base station gain Antenex antennas" should give you a clue, 800MHz is not a ham band.

Tropo, I see you and I have a similar setup only my main antenna is a Diamond 2M/1.25M/70cM vertical with an Andrew 3dB gain 800MHz cell antenna and a diplexer. Being the diplexer isn't in the transmitting path it's a custom made CATV model, see "Diplexer Trek" in the general scanning forum.

Tech note;
Being diplexers and triplexers are back to back bandpass filters they're a MUST when feeding signals from more than one antenna into a single receiving system. Combiners experience phase cancellation effects degrading the overall performance of the system.
