So I got this screen up when Avast free software ran a security scan of my tablet. I called my internet provider, WoW, and she said don't worry about it, Avast is just pimping me to upgrade to a paid version of their software.

Thoughts?

Oops. It's right side up on the computer, sorry about that.

It is possible that Malware has changed your DNS settings. I noticed that you have MalwareBytes on your computer screen. Update it and run it. Also, It's more likely that a DNS change was made to your computer than to your router. However, if your comfortable navigating around the administration software of your router, you can subscribe to a DNS service such as OpenDNS (basic version is free) that screens traffic and helps filter out the known "bad guys". You can also add filters manually that will prevent access to specific sites. I use it at work to keep the video streaming and social media "goof off" time down.

Thanks for the help.

I appreciate the help.

I'm getting the same message on a tablet and a laptop. I'm not proficient enough with computers to be comfortable changing settings. I'm gonna get someone who does look at it.

Thanks again.

gotta love how it says:

"Your router's DNS has been Hacked"

does avast know this for sure? im wondering if Remote Admin is turned on.

if it is NOT enabled how did someone change it.

i've seen another alert screen for avast that says "System DNS" instead of "Router DNS" indicating that it knows the difference.

wyandotte, id check to see if you have remote access turned on, if you do, turn it off.

Slicer and harvey are also correct.
