Which radio models and what exactly are they not doing?

.
The portable is a PR1500 . I requested that the repeater frequencies and both TX and RX tones be programmed and they sent me a print out of what I requested but they messed up big time they did program the TX ctcss tones like they did the RX I even tried keying up the local repeater and it did nothing .

The mobile is a cdm1550 only thing wrong is the wattage differs from 33.5 to 17 watts . But I’m not going to have it looked at .

So buyer beware because said shop can not adjust anything or upload any information.

I agree, I've purchased radios for work from them in the past, and they are a good shop.

When testing power output of a radio, it must be done with an accurate/calibrated watt meter and into a 50Ω dummy load. If you are testing into an antenna, the reflected power is going to throw off your readings. Also, the specs on the radio are usually listed as +/- a certain percentage. Even a new one from the factory may not throw out exactly 40 watts across its usable spectrum.

A lot of us (who do public safety communications for a living) use Sunny for various things and have never had an issue with them that they weren't willing to try and correct.

If you want someone certified to work on the radios you purchased, don't buy radios that have been out of support for a decade (and not even Motorola will touch). Anyone dealing with unsupported radios will have limited abilities. Whether that be programming, repair, etc and certifications are no longer valid when the manufacturer drops support for what those certifications were in.
