I was informed today that all of craighead county must be rebanded by the end of August, several of them have already been done, are the frequencies that are currently listed in the DB the rebanded frequencies or do we know those yet?

Just some random info that is connected with AWIN but not exactly about the system -

I've noticed that the AG&FC trucks (wildlife officers) are now using an elevated feed type of 800MHz antenna for their AWIN radios. At first they had the regular, shorter 800MHz antennas like you see on most state police patrol cars but, my guess is, those likely weren't cutting it out in the forests and backroads that they patrol so they went with this model. Looks like it has a spring at the base to help keep from knocking it off the trucks. I've seen a few of them around with this model antenna on it now...though the antenna placement on the roof varies from truck to truck.

Not sure of the kind of antenna it is - anyone recognize it? (Sorry the picture isn't better; it isn't my picture but is from a tint shop's Facebook page, showing off their tint job for this officer.)

TG 29805 (new)

This morning I heard this on talk group 29805, off of the Russellville tower:

First voice: "You guys be careful down there." (Where are they going? TX? FL?)
Second voice: "OK, and you make sure to keep those poachers under control."
First voice: "We'll try but it'll be harder without you."

Arkansas Game and Fish is my guess.

TG 44729

I just heard two police officers chit-chatting on this channel (44729) on the Russellville tower. Talk groups numbered 4472x seem to be Pulaski County Sheriff - could this be an unlisted tactical channel?

Yesterday I heard a State Police Troop J officer say to his dispatcher "Tell Life Flight to talk to us about the landing zone on 540, 540." They weren't talking about the highway number, and there is no talk group 540 listed in the DB. In fact there is nothing designated for 5xx talkgroup.

I've been hunting for Life Flight 6's operations channel for months, with no success. Could this be it?

Sure it wasn't 340? 155.34000 That's Arkansas HEAR that every ambulance and hospital have.

LifeNet does not have a dedicated talkgroup that I am aware of and they just put in an APX7500.

LifeNet has no assigned TG yet but that is coming. They do now have TraumaComm access on AWIN and will have all ER TG set in.

Not LifeNet... LifeFlight (I know - lots of the air ambulances have similar sounding names). LifeFlight 6 is based in Russellville. LifeNet is a different air ambulance company out of Hot Springs.

This is what I would be guessing - I know this is what Survival Flight uses a lot to talk to fire depts and others on the ground when headed to a remote LZ for a call. But it could be something else similar - maybe another frequency in use there is .540? Something like that is likely the case.

My bad.. :)

LifeFlight most likely uses Trauma Com 1 or Trauma Com 6. There's also been a lot of chatter on "Central 1" concerning EMS but I have not been able to distinguish whom it is.

Life*Net* also has a helicopter in Texarkana, Arkansas, and they serve as the primary care provider for Miller and Bowie Counties.

I hear a lot of air ambulances tell units to go to U-Call Delta 40 when dealing with mutual aid and LZ's. Been unable to track that exact frequency down.

Many times extremely early in the morning, I hear a lot of "chuff-chuff-chu-chu-chu-chuff chuff" on the National Guard ops TG off of the Russellville tower. Is anyone else hearing this in other parts of the state?
